Truco is a lively and strategic trick-taking card game popular in South America, especially in Brazil and Argentina. Played with a 40-card Spanish deck, it combines bluffing, teamwork, and tactics. Below are the rules for the Brazilian version of Truco, suitable for 2 or 4 players (in teams of 2). Objective: Be the first team to score 30 points by winning rounds. Players: 2 or 4 (2 vs. 2), using a 40-card Spanish deck (no 8s, 9s, or 10s). Deal: Each player gets 3 cards. The dealer rotates clockwise each round. Rankings (highest to lowest): Ace of Swords, Ace of Clubs, 7 of Swords, 7 of Gold ("manilhas"). 3s, 2s, Aces (except Swords/Clubs), Kings, Knights, Jacks, 7s (except Swords/Gold), 6s, 5s, and 4s.
